Attorney Michael McMinn Represents Client in Wrongful Termination Case Against Bethel Chamber of Commerce
Bradley Koltz, publisher of the Community Gazette, ex-president and former executive director of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce has filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination and breach of contract in addition to other claims. Attorney Michael McMinn is representing Koltz in this case and is supporting the client in his fight for damages and justice.
According to the lawsuit, Koltz is requesting compensatory and punitive damages from the Bethel Chamber of Commerce as compensation for failure to produce any buyout funds or commissions and incentives. Koltz states that the chair of the board agreed to buyout his contracts and pay out all commissions and incentives earned during his time as a part of the terms and conditions of Koltz’s departure. The Chamber also contested his unemployment despite promising not to do so.
Koltz believes his termination was a retaliatory measure by the Chamber of Commerce for an article he wrote alleging improper business practices and possible inappropriate contracts. The article in addition to other incidents including invoicing procedures and clashes over food trucks for the annual OctoberFest event, culminated in a complicated severing of all ties between Koltz and the Chamber.
As a result of the tumultuous circumstances surrounding his termination, Koltz alleges he has suffered the loss of wages, fringe benefits, and health insurance in addition to emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life.
